If you’ve heard a grinding noise when applying the brakes, your pads could be excessively worn and need to be replaced.
You may also have to replace your discs at the same time. If the vehicle pulls to one side when braking, this usually means a sticking or seized mechanical or hydraulic component.
If your pedal feels spongy, the cause is probably down to air in the hydraulic system due to a brake fluid leak or in some cases due to distorted brake discs.
Please note that hydraulic brake fluid should be replaced at least every two years.
